Common op-amp comparison
GBW = gain-bandwidth product (usable gain drops as frequency rises past this). Slew rate = fastest the output can change — the limit on large, fast signals even below GBW. Companion to the Operational amplifier calculator.
| Part | Config | GBW | Slew rate | Supply range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LM358 | Dual | 1 MHz | 0.3 V/µs | 3–32 V (single) or ±1.5–16 V | Classic single-supply-friendly part — output is NOT rail-to-rail |
| LM324 | Quad | 1 MHz | 0.5 V/µs | 3–32 V (single) or ±1.5–16 V | Quad version of the LM358 family |
| TL072 | Dual | 3 MHz | 13 V/µs | ±3–18 V | JFET input, low bias current — common in audio and filter circuits |
| NE5532 | Dual | 10 MHz | 9 V/µs | ±3–20 V | Low noise, a long-time favorite for audio |
| LM741 | Single | 1 MHz | 0.5 V/µs | ±5–18 V | The old classic — mostly superseded, listed for reference |
| MCP6002 | Dual | 1 MHz | 0.6 V/µs | 1.8–6 V | Rail-to-rail input/output, low power — common with 3.3 V/5 V MCUs |
