- VCC (3.3V ONLY on the 6-pin purple GY-BMP280-3.3: the board carries four 10kΩ pull-ups and a capacitor, no regulator — 5V kills the sensor. The GY-BME280 and most 4-pin boards add an LDO and take 3.3–5V)

- SCL (I2C clock / SPI SCK)
- SDA (I2C data / SPI MOSI)
- CSB (SPI chip select — pulled high on the board, so leave it unconnected for I2C)
- SDO (SPI MISO; in I2C sets the address LSB: GND = 0x76, open/VCC = 0x77 — pulled high on the board, hence 0x77 by default)

- BME280 adds humidity to the BMP280 pressure + temperature. The two boards look identical; the BME280 can is a 2.5 mm square, the BMP280 can is a 2 x 2.5 mm rectangle.
- The pin names are printed on the BACK of the GY-BMP280-3.3 — the component side only shows the four resistors and the can.
