What one count is worth, and how counts and volts map onto each other, using the common Arduino-sketch convention where full scale is the top count, 2ᴺ−1: $V=\frac{\mathrm{reading}\times V_{\mathrm{ref}}}{2^N-1}$ — N is the resolution in bits. Many datasheets (Atmel/Microchip among them) instead define the step as Vref/2ᴺ — check which one a formula you're comparing against actually uses; the two differ by about 0.1 % at 10 bits.
